My Suburban Food Forest

Growing a garden that mimics the natural systems of a forest increases biological activity, improves soil health, provides abundant harvests, and creates a lush refuge for you at home.

I started planting in early 2016, and haven’t stopped. I am growing over 200 species of edible, medicinal, pollinator, and soil building plants in a small space that work in harmony to create an enjoyable and peaceful space for me and my family to enjoy.

I’d love for you to come see it too! We can talk about plants and help you get inspired to increase ecological abundance in your garden, on your plate, and in your medicine cabinet.

Below see some before pictures (from the real estate listing in 2015), and after, in June 2025.

This year I’m doing two days for free garden tours:

Summer Solstice Food Forest Garden Tour on June 20

Whatcom Permaculture Meet Up on June 26

Hope you can make one!
